إذا نأت لم تفارقني علاقتها
وإنand if دنتshe draws near فصدودthen, turning away العاتبthe reproachful one الزاريthe scornful one
وإن دنت فصدود العاتب الزاري
When she goes far away, my attachment to her does not leave me.
If you come to me, do not abandon our bond,
And if she draws near, she turns away like one reproachful and scornful.
Though the blame of the grieving reproacher draw near.
فحالso the state of عينيmy eye منon يوميكyour two days واحدةٌone and the same
فحال عيني من يوميك واحدةٌ
تبكيit weeps لفرطbecause of excessive صدودٍrejection أوor نوىremoteness of دارa dwelling
تبكي لفرط صدودٍ أو نوى دار
So my eye is in the same state on both your days:
Since the day I met you, my eyes have one state-
It weeps for excessive rejection or a dwelling's remoteness.
Weeping for the excess of rejections, or homesickness.
