سقىmay water اللَهُGod أياماًdays لناfor us وليالياand nights
سقى اللَهُ أياماً لنا ولياليا
لهنfor them بأكنافin the precincts of الشبابyouth ملاعبplaygrounds
لهن بأكناف الشباب ملاعب
May God water the days and nights that were ours,
God has watered for us days and nights
Whose playgrounds lay in the precincts of youth,
In the bosoms of youth there are playgrounds
إذwhen العيشlife غضfresh والزمانand time بغبطةin bliss
إذ العيش غض والزمان بغبطة
وشاهدand the witness to آفاتafflictions of المحبينlovers غائبabsent
وشاهد آفات المحبين غائب
When life was fresh and time was filled with bliss,
When life is fresh and time is blissful
And the witness to lovers’ afflictions was absent.
And the jealous eyes of lovers are absent
