Ah, O rocky height, where I once
O Eternal One, who once upon a time
dwelt—may morning rains water you, O height!
With your wisdom quenched the thirst of vales from the rock,

وذات السليل كيف حالكما بعدي
And O Ẓamyāʾ’s two dwellings, in the valley of ʿĀqil
My abode is a gloomy one in the belly of the rational being,
and Dhāt al-Salīl—how have you both fared since I left?
And you two spirits, how fare you after me?

لما لكما بالحارثية من عهد
May spring rains fall upon you both in succession,
The breezes of spring keep blowing upon you,
for the bond you both have with the Harithite woman.
Because of the covenant you have with Al-Harithiyah.
