O ignorant fool who began babbling, proclaiming

O ignorant one who raves, declaring

That abandoning love brings one closer to one's wishes,

That leaving love is the path to bliss,

ناصحاً اياي ان انبذَهُ

ناصحاً اياي ان انبذَهُ

وأُديم اللهوَ جلباً للهنا

وأُديم اللهوَ جلباً للهنا

Advising me to cast it aside

Advising me to cast it aside

And keep indulging in amusement to bring happiness:

And persist in frivolity, seeking joy.

انني والحبُّ شيءٌ واحدٌ

انني والحبُّ شيءٌ واحدٌ

فاذا جزّأتَنا اهلكتَنا

فاذا جزّأتَنا اهلكتَنا

Indeed, love and I are one and the same;

I and love are one thing,

So if you split us apart, you destroy us.

So if you divide us, you destroy us.
