اعزُّ لدى قلبي من العرش والملكِ

Indeed, my stay for an hour in the home of loved ones

My dwelling is in the abode of loved ones for an hour

Is dearer to my heart than the throne and kingship.

وجملةُ عطفٍ من لسان مليكتي

وجملةُ عطفٍ من لسان مليكتي

أحبُّ الى سمعي من العُود والجَنكِ

أحبُّ الى سمعي من العُود والجَنكِ

And a phrase of affection from my queen’s tongue

And a kind word from the tongue of my beloved

Is dearer to my ear than the oud and the harp.

Is sweeter to my ear than the lute and zither's sound
