I shared my longing with her, and bashfulness brought forth for me

Upon her cheek, roses wafting fragrance.

Without it, no thorn would rise upon a rose,

And beauties’ heads would become its couch.

And my love granted me its fruit through a glance

That conveyed an inner thought to me amid silence.

Would she tell me openly, “I love you,”

While bashfulness stands sentry upon her face?
