فيها لسيَّاح البلاد فنادقٌ
غرَفُchambers الجنانof paradise تألَّفتwere assembled ادواراas stories
غرَفُ الجنان تألَّفت ادوارا
There are hotels there for travelers through the lands,
In it are hotels for travelers of countries
Chambers of paradise arranged in stories,
Rooms of paradise arranged in cycles
طبقاًa tier علىupon طبقِa tier عروجاًascending للعلىto the heights
طبقاً على طبقِ عروجاً للعلى
حملتthey bore لسكَّانto the inhabitants السماof heaven الأخباراthe tidings
حملت لسكَّان السما الأخبارا
Tier upon tier, ascending to the heights;
Story upon story rising to the highest
They bore tidings to the dwellers of heaven.
Bringing news to the residents of the sky
قامتstood تماثيلٌstatues علىat ابوابهاtheir doors
قامت تماثيلٌ على ابوابها
تحكيresemble الملائكthe angels منظراًin appearance وشعاراand attire
تحكي الملائك منظراً وشعارا
Statues stood at their doors,
Statues stood at its doors
Resembling angels in appearance and attire.

حُفَّتwere surrounded بجنَّاتby gardens الأزاهرof flowers قدindeed حوتcontained
حُفَّت بجنَّات الأزاهر قد حوت
ورداًroses واساًand myrtle نرجساًnarcissus وعراراand ʿarār (fragrant yellow flowers)
ورداً واساً نرجساً وعرارا
They were surrounded by flower gardens that held
Surrounded by gardens of flowers containing
Roses and myrtle, narcissus and ʿarār blooms.
Roses, lilies, narcissi and sweet basil
جمعتthey gathered لاسبابfor the causes الهناءِof happiness ذرائعاًmeans
جمعت لاسباب الهناءِ ذرائعاً
تُوليgrant النزيلَthe guest منfrom المنىthe wishes أوطاراdesired ends
تُولي النزيلَ من المنى أوطارا
They gathered the means for attaining happiness,
It brought together means of prosperity
Granting the guest the fulfillment of his wishes.
To give the guest cycles of wishes
يمسيhe spends the evening ويصبحُand greets the morning والنعيمُwhile bliss مهادهُhis bed
يمسي ويصبحُ والنعيمُ مهادهُ
حتىuntil لينسىhe indeed forgets أهلهُhis family والجاراand the neighbor
حتى لينسى أهلهُ والجارا
He passes evening and morning with bliss as his bed,
He goes to bed and wakes with bliss his bed
Until he even forgets his family and neighbor.
