يَشقىsuffer رِجالmen وَيَشقىand suffer آخرونothers بِهِمbecause of them
يَشقى رِجال وَيَشقى آخرون بِهِم
وَيَسعَدand makes happy اللَهِGod اِقواماًsome people بِأَقوامِthrough other people
وَيَسعَد اللَهِ اِقواماً بِأَقوامِ
Some men suffer, and others suffer because of them.
Some men are wretched, while others make them so
And God makes some people happy through others.
And Allah makes some folks blissful through some
وَلَيسَand is not رِزقlivelihood الفَتىthe young man منfrom لُطفfinesse حيلَتِهhis resourcefulness
وَلَيسَ رِزق الفَتى من لُطف حيلَتِه
لكِنbut حدودlimits بِأَرزاقِconcerning livelihoods وَأَقسامِand allotted shares
لكِن حدود بِأَرزاقِ وَأَقسامِ
And a young man's livelihood does not come from his deft resourcefulness;
A young man's livelihood is not from his wit so fine
But there are limits to livelihoods and allotted shares.
But apportioned through divine allotments and assignments
كَالصَيدِlike game يَحرمهfails to obtain it الراميthe marksman المجيدskilled وَقدyet sometimes
كَالصَيدِ يَحرمه الرامي المجيد وَقد
يَرميshoots فَيَرزُقُهُand so is granted it منone who لَيسَis not بِالراميa marksman at all
يَرمي فَيَرزُقُهُ من لَيسَ بِالرامي
Like game that eludes a skilled marksman, while sometimes
Like prey for which the skilled archer forbears to shoot
One who is no marksman shoots and is granted it.
Yet it may be hit and fed by one who cannot aim remote
