اِذاif كُنتَyou are ذاpossessing لبsound judgment فَإِيّاكَthen beware وَالَّتيand that which
اِذا كُنتَ ذا لب فَإِيّاكَ وَالَّتي
اِذاwhen ذَكَرتyou mention اِصبَحتَyou become مِنهاfor it تعذرyou make excuses
اِذا ذَكَرت اِصبَحتَ مِنها تعذر
If you possess sound judgment, beware of that
If you were tender-hearted, beware of she
Which, when you mention it, leaves you making excuses for it.
Who, when remembered, causes agony.
