كل إِلى الغايَةِ مَحثوت

كل إِلى الغايَةِ مَحثوت

وَالمَرءُ موروث فَمَبعوث

Everyone is driven toward the end;

All towards an end are driven

and a man is inherited from, then resurrected.

And mankind is bequeathed then sent forth

فَكُن حَديثاً حسناً سائِراً

فَكُن حَديثاً حسناً سائِراً

بَعدَك فَالدُنيا اِحاديثُ

بَعدَك فَالدُنيا اِحاديثُ

So be a good story, widely told

So be a good tale spreading wide

after you are gone—for the world is stories.

After you, the world is but tales
