وَاِشكُر فَإِن الشُكرَ من

حَقٍّ عَلى الإِنسانِ واجِب

And give thanks, for gratitude is among

the rightful duties incumbent upon a person.

Of mankind, a right, and moral beauty

لا تَرج مِن لا يَشكر

لا تَرج مِن لا يَشكر

النعمى وَيَصبِر في العَواقِب

النعمى وَيَصبِر في العَواقِب

Expect nothing from one who neither gives thanks

Hope not from those who spurn to render thanks

for blessings nor remains patient through what follows.

For favours granted, and the future's outcome calmly await
