When he took up a dwelling within my heart,
When you found a home in my heart,
And began to train both his eyes upon it,
And your glances began to reign over it,

I called to him, pleading for mercy, with a sigh
I called out to you, begging mercy from a sigh,
That revealed to him the secrets of my heart:
That had poured out the secrets of my soul to you.
رِفقاًbe gentle بمنزِلكَwith your dwelling الذيwhich تَحتَلُّهُyou inhabit it

يا مَن يُخَرِّبُ بَيتَه بِيَدَيهِ
Be gentle with your dwelling, which you inhabit,
Gently, in the home you occupy,
O you who destroy your own house with your own two hands.
O you who destroys his house with his own hands.
