من نسجهِ فخدَعتِ صرعاكِ
The mirage cast robes over you,
The mirage cast its robes upon you
Of its own weaving; so you deceived those you laid low.
Woven to deceive and make you swoon

وتباعدين فكلّهم شاك
You reach out, and all of them rejoice;
You approach all, to their delight
And you draw away, and all of them complain.
You turn away, leaving all forlorn

Were it not for you—your coldness—I would say in my passion:
If not for your disdain, I'd say from passion
The Creator has fashioned none but you.
The Creator made none but you

O temptation, pride of the Divine
For He is the one who fashioned you with His two hands.
For He with both hands shaped only you
