And captivated eyes with his beauty, and so became peerless.

سلask عنهabout him عشاقthe lovers الكمالof perfection فإنهfor he
سل عنه عشاق الكمال فإنه
بنفائسwith the treasures الخلقof character الكريمnoble تقلّداhe adorned himself
بنفائس الخلق الكريم تقلّدا
Ask the lovers of perfection about him, for he
Ask the lovers of perfection about him, for he
has adorned himself with the treasures of noble character.
Was adorned with the finest traits and noble character.
عيدُa festival السعادةof happiness كانwas يومthe day زفافهof his wedding
عيدُ السعادة كان يوم زفافه
أفديهI would give my life for it عيداa festival فيin الزمانtime مخلّداmade everlasting
أفديه عيدا في الزمان مخلّدا
His wedding day was a festival of happiness.
The day of his wedding was a celebration of joy,
I would give my life for it—a festival made everlasting through time.
I sacrifice for him an eternal feast honored through time.
دامتmay it endure لهfor him النعمىbliss ودامand may it endure دعاؤُناour prayer
دامت له النعمى ودام دعاؤُنا
لاmay not زالcease to be مسعدMus‘ad بالأمانيby wishes مسعداmade happy
لا زال مسعد بالأماني مسعدا
May bliss endure for him, and may our prayer endure:
May blessings endure for him and our prayers as well,
May Mus‘ad ever be gladdened by his wishes.
May he remain fortunate, fulfilled in his wishes forever.
