الحزانى على الأسى عاكفونا

بعد أن صارت الأماني مَنونا

بعد أن صارت الأماني مَنونا

The sorrowful dwell upon grief,

Those sorrowful on grief rely on us

After hopes have turned to death.

After hopes have come and gone

والأُلى يحكمون لا يعلمونا

والأُلى يحكمون لا يعلمونا

أنه يهدمون ما يبتَنونا

أنه يهدمون ما يبتَنونا

And those who rule do not know

While strangers rule, not knowing us

That they demolish what they build;

That they destroy what we have done

والبناء الذي يظنّونَه مجداً

والبناء الذي يظنّونَه مجداً

سيمحو آثارَهم أجمعينا

سيمحو آثارَهم أجمعينا

And the edifice they take for glory

And the building they believe is glory

Will erase the traces of them all.

Will wipe away all trace of them
