أبى القلبُ أن يأتيْ السَّديرَ وأهلهُ

أبى القلبُ أن يأتيْ السَّديرَ وأهلهُ

وإِنْ قِيلَ : عَيشٌ بالسَّدِيرِ غَريرُ

وإِنْ قِيلَ : عَيشٌ بالسَّدِيرِ غَريرُ

The heart refused to visit al-Sadir and its people,

My heart refused to go to As-Sadir and its people

Even if it is said, “Life in al-Sadir is carefree.”

Even if it was said: there is a good life in As-Sadir

بِهِ البَقُّ ، والحُمَّى ، وأُسْدُ خَفِيَّةٍ

بِهِ البَقُّ ، والحُمَّى ، وأُسْدُ خَفِيَّةٍ

وعمرو بنُ هندٍ يعتدي ، ويجورُ

وعمرو بنُ هندٍ يعتدي ، ويجورُ

In it are gnats, fever, and the lions of Khafiyya,

In it there is malaria, fever, and lions hiding

And ʿAmr ibn Hind transgresses and acts unjustly.

And Amr bin Hind oppressing and tyrannizing

فلا أُنذِرُ الحَيَّ الأُولَى نَزلُوا بهِ

فلا أُنذِرُ الحَيَّ الأُولَى نَزلُوا بهِ

وإِنّي لِمَنْ لم يأتِهِ لَنَذيرُ

وإِنّي لِمَنْ لم يأتِهِ لَنَذيرُ

So I do not warn the tribe who have settled there,

So I do not warn the first group who settled there

And I am surely a warner to anyone who has not come there.

And I am warning those who have not come there
