بِرِجلةِ التَّيسِ ذاتِ الحَمضِ والشِّيحِ

We returned Yarbuʿ’s allies to her,

We oft repeated to a lovely gazelle

At Rijlat al-Tays, rich in saltwort and wormwood.

Whose feet the juicy sour berries would stain
