سَأُرسِلُI shall send forth بَيتاa verse قَدalready وَسَمتُI branded جَبينَهُits brow
سَأُرسِلُ بَيتا قَد وَسَمتُ جَبينَهُ
يُقَطِّعُit severs أَعناقَthe necks of البُيوتِthe verses الشَوارِدِwandering
يُقَطِّعُ أَعناقَ البُيوتِ الشَوارِدِ
I shall send forth a verse whose brow I have branded;
I will send a verse whose forehead I have marked
I shall dispatch a verse whose brow I have branded,
It severs the necks of wandering verses.
To sever the necks of impudent houses.
That severs the necks of all wandering rhymes;
أَقامَdwelt النَدىbounty وَالجودُand generosity فيin كُلِّevery مَنزِلٍabode
أَقامَ النَدى وَالجودُ في كُلِّ مَنزِلٍ
أَقامَdwelt بِهِin it الفَضلُal-Fadl بنُson of يَحيىYahya بنُson of خالِدِKhalid
أَقامَ بِهِ الفَضلُ بنُ يَحيى بنُ خالِدِ
Bounty and generosity have dwelt in every abode
Munificence and hospitality have taken up residence
For generosity and bounty abide in every dwelling
Where al-Fadl ibn Yahya ibn Khalid has dwelt.
In every abode where Fadl son of Yahya son of Khalid has stayed.
Wherein Al-Fadl ibn Yahya ibn Khalid abides.
