قُلSay لِلإِمامِto the imam الَّذيwho جاءَتcame خِلافَتُهُhis caliphate
قُل لِلإِمامِ الَّذي جاءَت خِلافَتُهُ
تَهدىbeing bestowed إِلَيهِupon him بِحَقٍّby right غَيرِnot مَردودِdisputed
تَهدى إِلَيهِ بِحَقٍّ غَيرِ مَردودِ
Say to the imam whose caliphate came
Say to the Imam to whom the Caliphate has come,
Bestowed upon him by an undisputed right:
Conveyed to him by a right that cannot be refused:
نِعمَExcellent is المُعينُthe helper عَلىin التَقوىpiety أُعِنتَyou were aided بِهِby him
نِعمَ المُعينُ عَلى التَقوى أُعِنتَ بِهِ
أَخوكَyour brother فيin اللَهِGod يَعقوبُYa‘qub بنُson of داوُدِDawud
أَخوكَ في اللَهِ يَعقوبُ بنُ داوُدِ
Excellent is the helper in piety with whom you have been aided—
Excellent is the helper in piety with whom you are supported,
Your brother in God, Ya‘qub son of Dawud.
Your brother in God, Ya'qub ibn Dawud.
