قُدومك مِن دار السَعادة بِالبُشرى

قُدومك مِن دار السَعادة بِالبُشرى

بِهِ مصرك اِزدادت عَلى شُكرِها شُكرا

بِهِ مصرك اِزدادت عَلى شُكرِها شُكرا

Your arrival from the Abode of Felicity with glad tidings—

Your arrival from the abode of bliss with good tidings

Through it, your Egypt added gratitude to its gratitude.

With it your Egypt increased in gratitude

وَعَودُك فيها ظافِراً بامتيازها

وَعَودُك فيها ظافِراً بامتيازها

كَساها بِهَذا العَهد حلتَها الخَضرا

كَساها بِهَذا العَهد حلتَها الخَضرا

And your return to it, having secured its privilege,

And your return to it victoriously distinguished

Clothed it, in this era, in its green robe,

Adorned it with this era in its greenest attire

وَتوّجها مِنهُ بِتاج مَهابة

وَتوّجها مِنهُ بِتاج مَهابة

تَنال بِها في كُل مملكة فَخرا

تَنال بِها في كُل مملكة فَخرا

And crowned it thereby with a crown of majesty,

And crowned it with a crown of reverence

Through which it gains honor in every kingdom.

With which it attains glory in every kingdom

وَفي طالع السَعد استردّت مَهابة

وَفي طالع السَعد استردّت مَهابة

تَدوم مَدى الدُنيا لِدَولتك الغَرّا

تَدوم مَدى الدُنيا لِدَولتك الغَرّا

And under a fortunate ascendant it regained a majesty

And in the ascendant star it regained its awe

That endures for your illustrious state as long as the world.

Enduring throughout the world for your glorious state

وَأَجنادها في البَر وَالبَحر قَد نَمَت

وَأَجنادها في البَر وَالبَحر قَد نَمَت

وَنالَت كَما رامَت بِصَولَتِها نَصرا

وَنالَت كَما رامَت بِصَولَتِها نَصرا

And its troops on land and sea have grown,

And its armies on land and sea have grown

And won, as they wished, victory through their might.

And attained, as it desired, with its might victory

وَأَودَت بِمَن قَد كانَ يَزعم أَنَّهُ

وَأَودَت بِمَن قَد كانَ يَزعم أَنَّهُ

يَشدّ لَهُ المريخ في كرّه ظَهرا

يَشدّ لَهُ المريخ في كرّه ظَهرا

And destroyed whoever had claimed that

And destroyed those who claimed

Mars would strengthen his back in his charge.

That Mars aided them in their hatred

وَفي آلك الصَيد الكماة تَقررت

وَفي آلك الصَيد الكماة تَقررت

وَراثةُ تَخليد رفعت لَها ذِكرا

وَراثةُ تَخليد رفعت لَها ذِكرا

And in your house of proud, valiant warriors was established

And in your family the skilled hunters were settled

A succession in perpetuity, whose renown you exalted.

The inheritance of immortalizing its prominence

وَمَهَدَت للإسلام خَمسَ قَواعد

وَمَهَدَت للإسلام خَمسَ قَواعد

عَلَيها بِنا الإحكام قَد قاوَم الدَهرا

عَلَيها بِنا الإحكام قَد قاوَم الدَهرا

And you laid five foundations for Islam,

And you paved for Islam five foundations

On which a firmly built edifice has withstood time.

Upon it, we constructed with permanence

وَشَيدت للأنجال في كُل بُقعة

وَشَيدت للأنجال في كُل بُقعة

حُصوناً بِها الآساد تقتنص النسرا

حُصوناً بِها الآساد تقتنص النسرا

And for your offspring you built in every region

And erected in every land for the youth

Fortresses where lions capture the eagle.

Fortresses in which the lions stalk the eagles

وَجئت وَفي يمناك لِلحَق مرهف

وَجئت وَفي يمناك لِلحَق مرهف

يُؤيد للسلطان في مُلكه أَمرا

يُؤيد للسلطان في مُلكه أَمرا

And you came with a keen sword for justice in your right hand,

And you came while in your right hand for truth a sharpener

Upholding the Sultan's authority within his realm.

That aids the sultan in his kingdom

وَأَسبغت بِالتَوفيق كامل نعمة

وَأَسبغت بِالتَوفيق كامل نعمة

عَلى وَطن فيهِ لَكَ الآية الكُبرى

عَلى وَطن فيهِ لَكَ الآية الكُبرى

And, with success, you bestowed a complete blessing

And you granted with success complete blessings

On a homeland where your greatest sign is found.

Upon a homeland in which you have the greatest sign

وَكَيفَ وَقَد أَحييت مِنهُ رسوسه

وَكَيفَ وَقَد أَحييت مِنهُ رسوسه

وَأَعليت في أَوج الفَخار لَهُ قَدرا

وَأَعليت في أَوج الفَخار لَهُ قَدرا

And how could it be otherwise, when you revived its ancient wells,

And how not when you revived its glories

And raised its stature to the pinnacle of glory?

And raised to the peak of pride for it esteem

وَحليت مِنهُ جيده بِقَلائد

وَحليت مِنهُ جيده بِقَلائد

ثَناكَ غَدا في كُل سَمطٍ لَها درا

ثَناكَ غَدا في كُل سَمطٍ لَها درا

And adorned its neck with necklaces—

And adorned its neck with necklaces

Praise of you became pearls on each of their strands.

Your praise which became in every assembly precious

وَأَجريت ماء النيل مِنهُ بحكمة

وَأَجريت ماء النيل مِنهُ بحكمة

فَأَروى جِبال الصَخر وَالسَهل وَالوَعرا

فَأَروى جِبال الصَخر وَالسَهل وَالوَعرا

And wisely made its Nile water flow,

And you let the Nile water flow through it wisely

So it watered rocky mountains, plains, and rugged ground.

Quenching mountain, plain, and ruggedness

وَمِن راحَتي علياك فاضَت عَلى الوَرى

وَمِن راحَتي علياك فاضَت عَلى الوَرى

بِحارُ نَوال كُلّ عاف بِها أَثرى

بِحارُ نَوال كُلّ عاف بِها أَثرى

And from Your Highness's two palms poured upon humankind

And from my comfort in you overflowed upon the land

Seas of bounty, through which every petitioner grew rich.

A sea of abundance, every well-being prospered through it

وَبَدّلت بِاليسرين عسرَ رَعية

وَبَدّلت بِاليسرين عسرَ رَعية

شَرحت بِها في كُل آونة صَدرا

شَرحت بِها في كُل آونة صَدرا

And you replaced your subjects' hardship with twofold ease,

And you replaced the hardship of the flock with ease

Through it you eased a heart at every moment.

Which you used to cheer in every moment a breast

وَمدّنت مِنها كَهلها وَفَطيمها

وَمدّنت مِنها كَهلها وَفَطيمها

بِنور عليم يخجل الشَمس وَالبَدرا

بِنور عليم يخجل الشَمس وَالبَدرا

And you civilized its middle-aged men and its weaned children

And you enlightened its elders and its youth

With a learned one's light, which puts the sun and full moon to shame.

With brilliant knowledge that shames the sun and moon

وَرفّهت مِنها حالَها بِمكارم

وَرفّهت مِنها حالَها بِمكارم

حكت وَهيَ تَجري مِن مَنابعها بَحرا

حكت وَهيَ تَجري مِن مَنابعها بَحرا

And you improved its lot through acts of generosity,

And you improved through it generous deeds

Which, flowing from their springs, resembled a sea.

That portray it as they flow from its springs as a sea

وَنعّمت مِنها بالَها بِمَواهب

وَنعّمت مِنها بالَها بِمَواهب

لَدى العدّ لا يُحصي لَها حاسبٌ حَصرا

لَدى العدّ لا يُحصي لَها حاسبٌ حَصرا

And you soothed its mind with gifts

And you blessed it with gifts

That no reckoner can fully tally when counting them.

Before counting, no counter can limit

وَها هِيَ مُذ وافيتها لَك زينت

وَها هِيَ مُذ وافيتها لَك زينت

مَدائنك اللاتي لَك اِبتَسمت ثَغرا

مَدائنك اللاتي لَك اِبتَسمت ثَغرا

And behold: since you reached her, she has adorned for you

And here it is since I came to you, adorned

Your cities, their mouths smiling upon you.

Your cities that smiled to you widely

وَحيّاك بِالإِقبال مَجدي مؤرخاً

وَحيّاك بِالإِقبال مَجدي مؤرخاً

لِتَوفيقه اِسماعيل عادَ إِلى مِصرا

لِتَوفيقه اِسماعيل عادَ إِلى مِصرا

And Majdi hailed you with good fortune, recording the date

And welcomed your glorious chronicler

Of his success: 'Ismail returned to Egypt.'
