You enriched dwellings with all-embracing generosity;

I sang of the generous manors

Blessings circled them, despite the envious.

Where blessings wandered despite the envious.

وَتَرَكت فيها لِلعَلاء مآثِراً

وَتَرَكت فيها لِلعَلاء مآثِراً

مِن فَيض بَحر مَكارمٍ مَشهود

مِن فَيض بَحر مَكارمٍ مَشهود

And you left within them noble achievements for glory,

And in them I left for the exalted, relics

From the overflow of a sea of generosity plain to see.

From the outpouring of a sea of witnessed generosity.

تَشدو بِها الأَيام ما دار المَلا

تَشدو بِها الأَيام ما دار المَلا

شُكراً لظلِّ عَطائك المَمدود

شُكراً لظلِّ عَطائك المَمدود

The days sing of them as long as the world turns,

The days sing of it as long as the kingdom turns,

In thanks for the outspread shade of your bounty.

Gratefully, for the shade of your outstretched bounty.

عَمّرت قَندية بِما أَغمرتها

مِن منهل عَذب كَثير وَرود

مِن منهل عَذب كَثير وَرود

You built up Candia with what you lavished upon her,

You developed Al Qandiyah with what you overwhelmed it,

From a sweet watering place, frequented by many.

From a pure, abundant spring of roses.

وَكَذاك خانية بِما أَوليتها

وَكَذاك خانية بِما أَوليتها

مِن نعمة جاءَت بِلا تَرويد

مِن نعمة جاءَت بِلا تَرويد

And likewise Chania, through what you bestowed upon her

And so too Khāniyah, with what you granted it,

Of blessing that came without delay.
