لِقُدومfor the arrival of والدةthe mother of الخديوِthe Khedive بمصرهِin his Egypt
لِقُدوم والدة الخديوِ بمصرهِ
عَمَّتspread throughout جَميعَall العالمينthe world’s peoples بَشائرُglad tidings
عَمَّت جَميعَ العالمين بَشائرُ
With the arrival of the Khedive’s mother in his Egypt,
For the arrival of the mother of the Khedive in Egypt
Glad tidings reached all the world’s people.
Good tidings spread throughout the world
وَاِزدادَتand increased الأَحفادthe grandchildren عِندَupon إِيابِهاher return
وَاِزدادَت الأَحفاد عِندَ إِيابِها
فَرَحاًin joy بِبهجتهby its radiance تُسَرُّare delighted نَواظرeyes
فَرَحاً بِبهجته تُسَرُّ نَواظر
And upon her return the grandchildren grew
And the grandchildren rejoiced at her return
In joy, whose radiance delights the eyes.
With joy at his delight that gladdens sights
وَصفتand became serene لَناfor us أَوقاتناour times فيin زينةsplendor
وَصفت لَنا أَوقاتنا في زينة
وَالكُلand everyone فيهاtherein لِلعَزيزةto the honored lady شاكرgrateful
وَالكُل فيها لِلعَزيزة شاكر
And our days grew serene for us amid splendor,
Our times were adorned for us in splendor
And everyone therein is grateful to the honored lady.
And all in it thank the esteemed one
لاmay not زالَcease إسماعيلIsmail يَرفَعraise قَدرَهاher standing
لا زالَ إسماعيل يَرفَع قَدرَها
وَيخصهاand singles her out بِالبرfor kindness منهfrom him أَوامرcommands
وَيخصها بِالبر منه أَوامر
May Ismail never cease to exalt her standing,
Ismail continues to raise her status
And may his decrees single her out for kindness,
And give her special benevolence from his commands
ماso long as آبreturns مِنfrom سَفَرa journey إِلىto أَوطانهhis native lands
ما آب مِن سَفَر إِلى أَوطانه
بِالعزwith glory وَالنَصرand victory العَزيزmighty مُسافرa traveler
بِالعز وَالنَصر العَزيز مُسافر
So long as there returns to his native lands from travel
He did not return from a journey to his homelands
A traveler, with glory and mighty victory.
Except with mighty victory, the mighty traveler
