نالَ بِالصُدق طَلعتٌ ما تَمنَّى

نالَ بِالصُدق طَلعتٌ ما تَمنَّى

مِن نبيّ عَلَيهِ مَولاه أَثنى

مِن نبيّ عَلَيهِ مَولاه أَثنى

Through sincerity, Tal‘at attained what he wished for

He attained through sincerity an ascent unhoped for

From a Prophet whom his Lord praised.

From a Prophet who his Master praised him

وَبلثم الأعتاب أَشرَق مِنهُ

وَبلثم الأعتاب أَشرَق مِنهُ

وَجهُهُ وَاِكتَسى بَهاءً وَحُسنا

وَجهُهُ وَاِكتَسى بَهاءً وَحُسنا

And from kissing the thresholds, radiant grew

And kissing the threshold his face shone

His face, and it was clothed in splendor and beauty.

And was clad in splendor and beauty

وَإِلى مَصر جاءَ يَسعى بِنُور

وَإِلى مَصر جاءَ يَسعى بِنُور

فَوق نُور وَزاد بِالعَود أَمنا

فَوق نُور وَزاد بِالعَود أَمنا

And to Egypt he came, hastening with light

And to Egypt he came hastening with light

Upon light, and with his return he grew more secure.

Above light and by his return brought safety

وَالرضا عَنهُ قال لِلمَجد أَرّخ

وَالرضا عَنهُ قال لِلمَجد أَرّخ

طَلعتٌ حاز بِالزِيارة يُمنا

طَلعتٌ حاز بِالزِيارة يُمنا

And favor toward him said to Glory, “Record the date:

And al-Rida being pleased with him told Glory to record

Tal‘at gained good fortune through the visit.”

Talhat gained through the visit good fortune
