بَنيت لِمصري بَيت الرَصَدْ

Through my lord's aid, in my fortress,

By the grace of my Master in my fortress

I built an observatory for my Egypt,

لأرصدَ مِنهُ العدا في الدُجى

وَأَرميهمُ بِشِهاب الكَمد

To watch the foes from it in the darkness,

To observe my enemies in the darkness

And strike them with a meteor of anguish,

وَأَقطَعَ دابرهم عُنوةً

بِجَزم وَجَيش كَثير العَدد

لما أَنَّ نَجميَ في دَولتي

Since my star, in my reign,

For when my star in my kingdom

Has been joined by good fortune for all eternity,

Is aligned with fortune forever

وَطالعُهُ في الوَغى لَم يَزَل

سَعيداً مُقيماً بِبُرج الأَسَد

سَعيداً مُقيماً بِبُرج الأَسَد

And its ascendant in battle has ever remained

And its rising in battle has not ceased

Auspicious, abiding in the sign of Leo.
