هَذا كتاب بِهِ في بابه كُشفت

هَذا كتاب بِهِ في بابه كُشفت

لِلجُند جُملةُ أَسرار عَلَيهِ خَفت

This is a book through which, in its field, were revealed

This is a book that unveils in its chapter

to the army a collection of secrets that had been hidden from it.

For the army a whole host of secrets that were obscure

وَإِنَّهُ مَع هَذا الاختصار حَوى

وَإِنَّهُ مَع هَذا الاختصار حَوى

ما لَيسَ في كُتُب مِن نَوعه بُسِطت

ما لَيسَ في كُتُب مِن نَوعه بُسِطت

And despite this brevity, it contained

And yet with this brevity it contained

what is not found in books of its kind expounded at length.

فَكانَ أَحرى بِتَعريبٍ وَتَرجمةٍ

فَكانَ أَحرى بِتَعريبٍ وَتَرجمةٍ

تُركية أَشرَقَت أَنوارُها وَزَهَت

So it was most worthy of an Arabic rendering and a translation

So it deserved to be translated and interpreted

in Turkish, whose lights shone and gleamed.

وَلاحظته عُيون السَعد حَيث بِهِ

وَلاحظته عُيون السَعد حَيث بِهِ

أَوامر الدَاوري بِالطَبع قَد صدرت

And the eyes of good fortune watched over it, for concerning it

And the eyes of Sa’d have observed it wherein

al-Dawari's orders for printing had been issued.

The orders of the court with printing have gone forth

فَقُلت مُذ تَمّ تَمثيلاً مُؤرّخه

فَقُلت مُذ تَمّ تَمثيلاً مُؤرّخه

طَوالع الزَهر في أُفق الفُنون زَكت

طَوالع الزَهر في أُفق الفُنون زَكت

So, when its printing was complete, I said, marking its date:

So I said since its dating has been completed as represented

The rising blossoms flourished on the horizon of the arts.

The rising of flowers on the horizon of arts have thrived
