عليٍّ مَليك العَصر رَب المَحامدِ

عليٍّ مَليك العَصر رَب المَحامدِ

The wife of the reviver of Egypt's treasure, Muhammad

The virtuous, life-giving treasure of Egypt, Muhammad

Ali, sovereign of the age, master of praiseworthy deeds,

Ali, king of the era, lord of praises,

ووالدة الشَهم الأَمير محمدٍ

ووالدة الشَهم الأَمير محمدٍ

عَليٍّ أَثيل المَجد عَن خَير والد

عَليٍّ أَثيل المَجد عَن خَير والد

And mother of the noble-hearted prince Muhammad

And mother of the valiant prince, Muhammad

Ali, of deep-rooted glory from the finest father,

Ali, heir of glory, from the best father,

بِنت لعباد اللَه في حُبِّ بَعلِها

بِنت لعباد اللَه في حُبِّ بَعلِها

وَواحدها أَسنى سَبيل لِقاصد

وَواحدها أَسنى سَبيل لِقاصد

Built for God's servants, out of love for her husband

Daughter of God's servants, loving her husband,

And her only son, the most splendid drinking fountain for those who seek it.

Her splendor paving the way for every seeker,

فَمن مائه الجاري كَما شاء يَرتَوي

فَمن مائه الجاري كَما شاء يَرتَوي

بِعافية في جسمه كُلُّ وارد

بِعافية في جسمه كُلُّ وارد

So from its flowing water, as he wishes, drinks his fill

Whoever drinks from her flowing stream as he wishes

Every visitor, with health in his body.

Will regain health in body, every visitor,

وَيثني بِإِخلاص عَلَيها فَإنها

وَيثني بِإِخلاص عَلَيها فَإنها

بِنته لإحيا نَفس غادٍ ووافد

بِنته لإحيا نَفس غادٍ ووافد

And praises her sincerely, for she

And praises her sincerely, for she

Built it to revive the soul of the morning traveler and newcomer.

Is his daughter, reviving weary souls, newcomers and locals,

وَسادَت عَلى أَترابِها في زَمانِها

وَسادَت عَلى أَترابِها في زَمانِها

بِحُسن ثَواب دائم مُتَزايد

بِحُسن ثَواب دائم مُتَزايد

And she rose above her peers in her time

She led her peers in her time

Through a goodly reward, lasting and ever-increasing.

With constant increasing good deeds,

وَفي دَولة اِسماعيل نالَت مِن العُلا

وَفي دَولة اِسماعيل نالَت مِن العُلا

ثَناءً بِتَوفيق لِخَير المَقاصد

ثَناءً بِتَوفيق لِخَير المَقاصد

And in Ismail's reign, she won high

And in Ismail's state she attained the heights

Praise through success in the noblest of aims.

Of praise for achieving the best purposes,

وَقَد قالَ مَجدي في بناها مُؤرخاً

وَقَد قالَ مَجدي في بناها مُؤرخاً

سَبيلُ زيبا عَذبٌ عَلِيُّ المَوارد

سَبيلُ زيبا عَذبٌ عَلِيُّ المَوارد

And Majdi said of her building, recording its date:

And Majdi said in eulogizing her:

"Ziba's fountain is sweet, its watering places lofty."

"Zaynab's pure spring is ever-flowing."
