قُدوم مَليك العَصر في مَصر بِالمُنى

كَساها مِن الإقبال أَبهَجَ حلةِ

كَساها مِن الإقبال أَبهَجَ حلةِ

The arrival of the monarch of the age in Egypt, bearing hopes,

The arrival of the era’s angel in Egypt, of wish

clothed her in the most splendid robe of good fortune,

Has clothed it in fortune-glory, a gleeful robe.

وَحلَّى سَماها في التَهاني بزينةٍ

وَحلَّى سَماها في التَهاني بزينةٍ

أَضاءَت بِها أَرجاء أَشرَف دُولة

أَضاءَت بِها أَرجاء أَشرَف دُولة

and adorned her sky, amid congratulations, with an adornment;

And adorned its name among the congratulations with an ornament

with it, the reaches of the noblest realm shone.

That illuminated the corners of the most noble state.
