بَشائر تَوفيقٍ بِها العيد دائمُ

بَشائر تَوفيقٍ بِها العيد دائمُ

وَبَينَ يَديهِ السَعدُ في مَصر قائمُ

وَبَينَ يَديهِ السَعدُ في مَصر قائمُ

Tawfiq's glad tidings make the feast everlasting,

Tidings of success make this feast everlasting,

and before him good fortune stands in Egypt.

And good fortune stands before it in Egypt upright.

وَبَيت مَعاليه الرصين أَساسه

وَبَيت مَعاليه الرصين أَساسه

لَهُ اِرتفعت في الخافقين دَعائم

لَهُ اِرتفعت في الخافقين دَعائم

And the house of his lofty virtues, firm in its foundation—

And his solid dignified house - its foundation

its pillars have risen for him in the East and West.

Pillars for it are raised up into the horizons.

وَطالعه السامي يشير بِأَنه

وَطالعه السامي يشير بِأَنه

سَتنجح في الأَعمال مِنهُ العَزائم

سَتنجح في الأَعمال مِنهُ العَزائم

And his lofty ascendant indicates that

And his lofty horoscope indicates that

his resolves will succeed in his undertakings.

He will accomplish noble deeds with determination.

وَينشر في الأَوطان أَنوار حكمه

وَينشر في الأَوطان أَنوار حكمه

بيقظته وَالغير في الغيّ نائم

بيقظته وَالغير في الغيّ نائم

And he spreads throughout the lands the lights of his rule,

And he will spread in the lands the lights of his rule,

through his vigilance, while others sleep in error.

With his vigilance, while others in neglect are sleeping.

وَيغمر بالإِحسان أَفضل أُمةٍ

وَيغمر بالإِحسان أَفضل أُمةٍ

بِهِ قَلبُها لِلّه بِالطَبع هائم

بِهِ قَلبُها لِلّه بِالطَبع هائم

And he showers kindness upon the noblest nation,

And he will overwhelm the best of nations with kindness -

whose heart is naturally enamored of him for God's sake.

For God her heart by nature is ever yearning.

وَيَسعى إِلى ما فيهِ غاية نَفعها

وَيَسعى إِلى ما فيهِ غاية نَفعها

بحزمٍ لَهُ بِالشُكر يلهج رائم

بحزمٍ لَهُ بِالشُكر يلهج رائم

And he strives toward what brings her the greatest benefit,

And he will strive for what is most beneficial for her,

with firmness, for which a seeker continually offers him thanks.

With wisdom - grateful hymns for him keep chanting.

وَيشرح مِنها صَدرَها بِمَعارفٍ

وَيشرح مِنها صَدرَها بِمَعارفٍ

لَهُ اِنعقدت تيجانها وَالعَمائم

لَهُ اِنعقدت تيجانها وَالعَمائم

And he expands her breast with learning,

And he will relieve her breast with knowledge -

whose crowns and turbans have been bound for him.

For him her turbans and crowns keep bowing.

وَيَعفو عَن الجاني بحلم تظاهرت

وَيَعفو عَن الجاني بحلم تظاهرت

عَلَيهِ لَنا في كُل شَيء عَلائم

عَلَيهِ لَنا في كُل شَيء عَلائم

And he pardons the offender with forbearance; there have appeared

And he forgives the sinner with a clemency that

signs of it to us in everything.

In all things keeps showing us clear signs.

وَيحذو كإسماعيل حذو محمدٍ

وَيحذو كإسماعيل حذو محمدٍ

عليٍّ وَإِبراهيم فيما يلائم

عليٍّ وَإِبراهيم فيما يلائم

And, like Ismail, he follows the example of Muhammad

And he follows, like Ishmael, the way of Muhammad,

Ali and Ibrahim in what is fitting.

Ali, and Abraham in what is fitting.

وَيركض في مضمار كل فضيلة

وَيركض في مضمار كل فضيلة

بِسابق فكرٍ ما تعدّاه حائم

بِسابق فكرٍ ما تعدّاه حائم

And he races on the course of every virtue,

And he races in the track of every virtue

with fleet thought that no hovering seeker has outstripped.

With an agile mind none roaming can outpace.

وَيصدع بِالحَق المبين من اِعتَدى

وَيصدع بِالحَق المبين من اِعتَدى

وَلا ينثني حَتّى تَلين الشَكائم

وَلا ينثني حَتّى تَلين الشَكائم

And he smites whoever transgresses with the manifest truth,

And he proclaims the clear truth against transgressors,

and does not turn back until the bridle-bits yield.

Nor wavers until even the stubborn relent.

وَيظفر بِالحَمد الجَزيل الَّذي بِهِ

وَيظفر بِالحَمد الجَزيل الَّذي بِهِ

يُقابله مِنا مصلٍّ وَصائم

يُقابله مِنا مصلٍّ وَصائم

And he wins the abundant praise with which

And he attains abundant praise - for which

those among us who pray and fast greet him.

We face him, praying and fasting, to requite.

وَتُهدَى إِلى علياه مِنا مَدائحٌ

وَتُهدَى إِلى علياه مِنا مَدائحٌ

بِها تَتَغنّى في التَهاني حَمائم

بِها تَتَغنّى في التَهاني حَمائم

And eulogies from us are offered to his exalted station,

And odes are presented to his sublimity -

which doves sing in congratulation.

With them ring doves in celebration recite.

وَينشده في العيد مجدي مؤرِّخاً

وَينشده في العيد مجدي مؤرِّخاً

بَشائر تَوفيق بِها العيد دائم

بَشائر تَوفيق بِها العيد دائم

And at the feast Majdi recites to him, marking the date:

And Majdi lauds him on the feast, chronicling

Tawfiq's glad tidings make the feast everlasting.

Tidings of success make this feast everlasting.
