1. يا وَزيراً للعَدل أَصبَح سَهما

    صائِباً لِلّذي يُحاول ظُلما

    O minister of justice, who has become an arrow,

    Unerring against whoever attempts injustice;

  2. وَعَليماً يَفيد في كُل صَعب

    مِن خَبايا سِياسة الملك عِلما

    And a learned man who imparts, in every difficulty,

    Knowledge from the secrets of governing the realm;

  3. وَحَكيماً يُبديبِكُل عَظيم

    مِن سَديد المَقال رَأياً وَحَزما

    And a sage who displays, in every great matter,

    Judgment and resolve through sound speech;

  4. لَكَ بُشرى مِن ناصر اللَه فَخري

    عز مصر بِما يسرّك فهما

    Glad tidings are yours from Nasir Allah Fakhri,

    Egypt's pride—with news whose meaning delights you.

  5. فَلَهُ مِن أَخيهِ جَعفر نَصر

    لَيسَ يَخشى لَديهِ في الكَون هَضما

    For he has support from his brother Jaafar,

    With him, he fears no injustice in the world.

  6. طابَ هَذا السَليل أَصلاً بجدّ

    وَأَب حازَ في البَرية حلما

    This scion is of noble stock, through a grandfather

    And a father endowed among mankind with forbearance,

  7. وَأَخ ناجب حَسيب يُجاري

    في ذَكاه بِثاقب الفكر عَمّا

    And a noble, well-born brother who rivals

    A paternal uncle in his intelligence, with penetrating thought.

  8. زانَ مِيلاده برودس أَرضاً

    تَتَباهى بِهِ عَلى الناس حَتما

    His birth in Rhodes adorned a land

    That surely boasts of him before all people.

  9. وَأَتى مصر رافِلاً في جَلال

    وَجَمال يَزداد حُسناً وَنَظما

    And he came to Egypt, arrayed in majesty

    And beauty, growing in loveliness and harmony.

  10. فَتهنأ وَقُل لمجدك أَرخ

    خَلق اللَه ناصر اللَه نجما

    So rejoice, and proclaim a chronogram for your glory:

    God created Nasir Allah as a star.
