زَماني حَباني في الهَوى بِفَوائدِهْ

زَماني حَباني في الهَوى بِفَوائدِهْ

وَجيدي تَحلَّى في الغِنى بِفَرائدِهْ

وَجيدي تَحلَّى في الغِنى بِفَرائدِهْ

My time has favored me in love with its gifts;

My time has gifted me in love with its benefits,

And my neck was adorned, in prosperity, with its choice pearls.

And my excellence has adorned itself in prosperity with its masterpieces.

وَنِلت مِن الأَيّام ما كُنتُ أَرتَجي

وَنِلت مِن الأَيّام ما كُنتُ أَرتَجي

بِطَلعة مَن يحيي مآثرَ تالده

بِطَلعة مَن يحيي مآثرَ تالده

And I gained from the days what I had hoped for,

And I have attained from the days what I used to hope for,

With the arrival of one who revives his forebear’s glorious deeds.

With the rising of one who revives the glorious deeds of his ancestors,

بِطَلعة مَخدومٍ جَمادى بِهِ غَدَت

بِطَلعة مَخدومٍ جَمادى بِهِ غَدَت

بِمَصر رَبيعاً يَزدَهي بِمَوالده

With the arrival of a patron, through whom Jumada became

With the rising of a protected one, Jumada with him became

In Egypt a spring, glorying in his birth celebrations.

In Egypt a spring blooming with his birthdays,

وَقَد قال في الميلاد مَجدي مُؤرخاً

وَقَد قال في الميلاد مَجدي مُؤرخاً

عَليٌّ رضا نجلٌ بَهيٌّ كَوالده

عَليٌّ رضا نجلٌ بَهيٌّ كَوالده

And Majdi indeed said of the birth, recording its date:

And Majdi has already said in the birth, recording,
