سمت رَوضة الأُنس الجَمالية الَّتي

بِها الصَدرُ إسماعيل ذو الدَولة اِعتَنى

بِها الصَدرُ إسماعيل ذو الدَولة اِعتَنى

High rose the Jamaliyya garden of delight, which

The garden of delight, abode of beauty, which

the chief minister Ismail, holder of state authority, tended.

The breast of Ismail Dhu'l Dawla cared for

وَشادَ بِها فوريقة السُكَّر الَّذي

وَشادَ بِها فوريقة السُكَّر الَّذي

عَلى سُكَّر الأَهواز فاقَ بمصرنا

عَلى سُكَّر الأَهواز فاقَ بمصرنا

And he built there a factory for sugar that

And in which he erected the sugar palace that

in our Egypt surpassed the sugar of Ahwaz.

Surpassed our Egypt's sugar in Ahvaz

فَلا زالَ طُول الدَهر بلبل أَيكها

فَلا زالَ طُول الدَهر بلبل أَيكها

يُغنِّي بِما يُهدَى إِلَيهِ مِن الثَنا

يُغنِّي بِما يُهدَى إِلَيهِ مِن الثَنا

So may the nightingale of its grove never cease, throughout all time,

So the nightingale in you has never ceased

singing the praise bestowed upon him,

To sing praise of the gifts brought to him

وَيومي إِلى ما شادَ فيها مؤرخاً

وَيومي إِلى ما شادَ فيها مؤرخاً

بنَى المالك إسماعيل فوريقةَ الهَنا

بنَى المالك إسماعيل فوريقةَ الهَنا

and pointing to what he built there, recording its date:

And recite daily the chronogram composed for it

“The proprietor Ismail built the factory of bliss.”

The ruler Ismail built the blessed palace
