1. حَباكَ اللَه بِالعَليا وَأَولَى

    فَإِنك أَنتَ بِالتقديم أَولى

    God has granted you exalted rank and bestowed His favor,

    For you yourself are most deserving of advancement.

  2. وَأَنَّى لا تُزَفُّ لَكَ المَعالي

    وَفي حلل البَهاء عَليك تُجلَى

    And how could lofty honors not come to you in bridal procession,

    And be unveiled before you in robes of splendor?

  3. وَإِنَّكَ يا اِبن إسماعيل درّ

    بِهِ جيد الصَدارة قَد تحلَّى

    And indeed, O son of Ismail, you are a pearl

    With which the neck of the premiership has been adorned.

  4. وَمنصب أَكبر الوزراء أَضحى

    بِذاتك سامياً قَولاً وَفعلا

    And the office of prime minister has become

    Exalted through you, in word and deed.

  5. وَتونس أَصبَحَت تَزهو فَخاراً

    بِصادقها الَّذي ربّاك طفلا

    And Tunis now glows with pride

    In its Sadiq, who raised you as a child.

  6. فَفقت وَأَنتَ في مَهد التَهاني

    بِحوز مَعارف خدنا وَكَهلا

    So, while in the cradle of felicitations, you surpassed

    Through your learning, both companion and grown man.

  7. وَقرّبك الإِمام لَديهِ حَتّى

    غَدا لَكَ عِندَ طيب الفرع أَصلا

    And the imam drew you near to him, until

    He became your root, with the branch so noble.

  8. فَساغَ لَنا الثَناء عَلى المفدّى

    أَمير المسلمين أَجلِّ مَولى

    Thus it befits us to praise the one we would ransom,

    Commander of the Muslims, the most august lord,

  9. عَلى نعم تَفيض عَلى الرَعايا

    فَتملأ مِنهُم الأَرواح فَضلا

    For blessings that overflow upon his subjects,

    And so fill their souls with bounty,

  10. وَتَغمُر بِالذَكا مِنهُم دَواماً

    بِأَشرف دَولة قَلباً وَعَقلا

    And continually flood them with intelligence,

    Under the noblest rule, in heart and mind,

  11. وَتَجعلهم بِها في كُل وَقت

    لإحراز المزايا منه أهلا

    And through it make them, at every moment,

    Worthy of attaining distinctions from him.

  12. وتحمده الملوك على سلوكٍ

    كَسا أَوطانَه الغَراء عَدلا

    And kings praise him for conduct

    That clothed his glorious lands in justice.

  13. وَتَشكُر صُنعَ سدّته بِلادٌ

    بِهِ اِزدادت مَع الإِنصاف نيلا

    And lands give thanks for the deeds of his court,

    Through which their gains have grown, along with fair treatment.

  14. وَتَمدحه بترتيل عَلى ما

    مكرّره يَكون لَديك أَحلى

    And they praise him in measured recitation for what

    Is sweeter to you when repeated.

  15. فَعش يا أَكبر الوزرا حَليفاً

    لإِقبالٍ بِهِ تَزداد وَصلا

    So live, O prime minister, as an ally

    Of good fortune, with which your bond grows stronger,

  16. وَتَأييد بِنَصر مَع ثَناء

    عَلَيكَ وَفيكَ بَين الناس يُتلى

    And of support through victory, with praise

    For you and about you, recited among the people.

  17. فَمنك الخارجية قَد أَضاءَت

    وَغَيهَب لَيلها عَنها تَجلَّى

    For through you, foreign affairs have shone,

    And their night's deep darkness has cleared away.

  18. وَللمالية اِنتظمت أُمور

    بِكَ التَأخير عَنها قَد تَولى

    And the affairs of finance have fallen into order;

    Through you, delay has departed from it.

  19. رَعاكَ اللَه ما صامَ اِبن عَشرٍ

    بإِخلاص لِمَولاه وَصلى

    May God guard you as long as a ten-year-old fasts

    Sincerely for his Lord, and prays,

  20. وَما قالَ الصَفا لِلمَجد أَرخ

    صَدارة مُصطَفى لِلنَفع أَعلى

    And as long as Purity says to Glory, 'Record the date:'

    'Mustafa's premiership is loftiest in bringing benefit.'
