Glad tidings are ours at the rising of a sun of beauty,

We have the good tidings of the rise of a sun of beauty

crowned with the crowns of beauty.

Crowned with the crowns of perfection

سُلالة معشر سادَت بجدّ

سُلالة معشر سادَت بجدّ

أَثيل المَجد وَاِزدانَت بِخال

أَثيل المَجد وَاِزدانَت بِخال

A scion of a clan, she rose to eminence through a grandfather

Descendant of a community of masters in ancestry

of deep-rooted glory, and was graced by a maternal uncle.

Inheritor of glory and adorned with a birthmark

وَمِن زاهي ضيا الأَبوين حازَت

وَمِن زاهي ضيا الأَبوين حازَت

بَهاءً قَد تَحلَّى بِالجَلال

بَهاءً قَد تَحلَّى بِالجَلال

And from her parents’ radiant light she gained

And from the radiant glow of her noble parents she gained

a splendor adorned with majesty.

Splendor clothed in majesty

وَشُكري قال لي صفها وَأَرّخ

حَنيفة بَدرُها في مصر عال
