لابنfor the son of المباركal-Mubarak مِنwho (contextual reading) سَماrose to أَوجsummit العلاglory
لابن المبارك مِن سَما أَوج العلا
أَوفَىfullest نَصيبshare مِنof زَمانtime مُقبلِto come
أَوفَى نَصيب مِن زَمان مُقبلِ
For Ibn al-Mubarak, who rose to the summit of glory,
For Ibn Al-Mubarak from the highest peaks of the sky
is the fullest share of the time to come.
The best share from an auspicious time
وَلَهُand for him الهَناjoy بختانat the circumcision of أَنجالٍsons لَهُمfor them
وَلَهُ الهَنا بختان أَنجالٍ لَهُم
مِنهُfrom him مَزيدadditional عِنايةcare بِتأهُّلin preparing for marriage
مِنهُ مَزيد عِناية بِتأهُّل
And his is the joy of his sons’ circumcision; they receive
And for him two joys - sons for whom
from him abundant care in preparing for marriage.
From him an increase of care through marriage
لاmay not زالَcease طالعهhis star السَعيدfortunate بِعصرهin his age
لا زالَ طالعه السَعيد بِعصره
يَسموrise بِهِwith him فَوقَabove الطرازrank الأَوّلthe foremost
يَسمو بِهِ فَوقَ الطراز الأَوّل
May his fortunate star, in his age, never cease
His auspicious star still shines in his time
to raise him above the foremost rank,
Rising above the foremost stature
ماas long as قالَsaid مَجديMajdi فيin عُقودnecklaces مَدائحpraises
ما قالَ مَجدي في عُقود مَدائح
نُظمتwere strung بِإِخلاصwith sincerity وَحُسنِand fine تَأمّلreflection
نُظمت بِإِخلاص وَحُسنِ تَأمّل
as long as Majdi speaks in necklaces of praise,
What Majdi said in decades of sincere praises
strung with sincerity and fine reflection.
Composed with devotion and excellence of contemplation

تاريخ يُوسف بِالختان لَهُ بَهى
أَرخrecord the date بَهاءsplendor ختانهhis circumcision حسنٌbeauty عَليlofty
أَرخ بَهاء ختانه حسنٌ عَلي
