بُشرى بِميلادٍ بَهيجٍ سامي

لِنَفيسةٍ بِرَبيع هَذا العامِ

Glad tidings of a joyous, exalted birth—

of Nafisa, in the spring of this year.

بُشرى أَبيها يوسف العز الَّذي

نالَت بِطلعته أَجلّ مَقام

نالَت بِطلعته أَجلّ مَقام

Glad tidings for her father, Yusuf al-Izz, whose

appearance won her the most exalted station.

وَالمَجد حين أَتته قال مؤرخاً

لاحَت نَفيسة بِالجَمال النامي

لاحَت نَفيسة بِالجَمال النامي

And Glory, when she came to him, said, marking the date:

“Nafisa has appeared with ever-growing beauty.”
