أَنُظلَمُ في زَمانك يا سَعيدُ

أَنُظلَمُ في زَمانك يا سَعيدُ

وَأَنتَ العادل المَلك الرَشيدُ

وَأَنتَ العادل المَلك الرَشيدُ

Are we to be wronged in your time, O Sa‘id,

when you are the just and rightly guided king?

وَيَسطو الذئب من شرهٍ عَلَينا

وَيَسطو الذئب من شرهٍ عَلَينا

وَأَنتَ اللَيث وَالبَطَل المَجيد

وَأَنتَ اللَيث وَالبَطَل المَجيد

And is the wolf to assail us out of greed,

when you are the lion and the glorious hero?

وَيَرقى غَيرنا رُتب المَعالي

وَيَرقى غَيرنا رُتب المَعالي

وَيَخفضنا بِلا سَبَب عَنيد

وَيَخفضنا بِلا سَبَب عَنيد

And are others to climb the ranks of eminence,

while an obstinate man brings us low without cause?

وَيَظفر بِالأَماني كُل راج

وَيَظفر بِالأَماني كُل راج

وَنَحرم مِن جَنابك ما نُريد

وَنَحرم مِن جَنابك ما نُريد

And is every hopeful soul to attain his wishes,

while we are denied what we desire from you?

وَجُود يَديك فاضَ عَلى الرَعايا

وَجُود يَديك فاضَ عَلى الرَعايا

فَسُرَّ قَريبُهم وَكَذا البَعيد

فَسُرَّ قَريبُهم وَكَذا البَعيد

And the bounty of your hands has overflowed upon your subjects,

so those near and those far were gladdened alike.

وَدم في نعمة وَثَبات ملك

وَدم في نعمة وَثَبات ملك

فَفيك الشُكر ما دُمنا يَزيد

فَفيك الشُكر ما دُمنا يَزيد

And may you remain in prosperity, your reign secure,

for our gratitude to you grows as long as we live.
