أَرى أَن الغِناء إِذا أَتاهُم

أَرى أَن الغِناء إِذا أَتاهُم

تَحوّل عَنهُم الدين القَويمُ

تَحوّل عَنهُم الدين القَويمُ

I see that, when music comes among them,

I see that when singing comes to them,

The upright faith departs from them,

the upright faith departs from them,

وَأَلبَسَهُم شِعار الكبر حَتّى

وَأَلبَسَهُم شِعار الكبر حَتّى

يَروا أَن التَواضع لا يديم

يَروا أَن التَواضع لا يديم

And clothes them in the garb of arrogance, until

and it clothes them in the garb of pride, until

They come to believe that humility sustains nothing.

they believe that humility does not sustain them.
