Glad tidings to the Khedive’s mother on her return

in health, which is among the greatest blessings.

فَلَقَد أَضاءَت مَصر عِندَ قَدومها

فَلَقَد أَضاءَت مَصر عِندَ قَدومها

وَلها تبسم ثَغرُ أَشرَف دَولة

وَلها تبسم ثَغرُ أَشرَف دَولة

For Egypt shone upon her arrival,

and the mouth of the noblest realm smiled for her.

وَصَفا بِتَوفيق العَزيز زَمانُها

وَصَفا بِتَوفيق العَزيز زَمانُها

لِسَليلها الملك العليّ الهمة

لِسَليلها الملك العليّ الهمة

And her days grew serene through the Almighty’s favor

toward her son, the king of lofty resolve.

وَبِكامل الأَوصاف طافَ ثَناؤُها

وَبِكامل الأَوصاف طافَ ثَناؤُها

وَغَدا بِها حَسناً بَديع الحكمة

وَغَدا بِها حَسناً بَديع الحكمة

And praise of her spread abroad, extolling every virtue,

and through her became beautiful, wondrous in wisdom.

وَالمَجد أَنشد في القدوم مؤرخاً

وَالمَجد أَنشد في القدوم مؤرخاً

مد الإياب صفاء شمس العصمة

مد الإياب صفاء شمس العصمة

And Glory chanted at her arrival, recording the date:

The return prolonged the radiance of the sun of purity.
