الآن أَورق غصنُ العَدلِ وَالسوددْ

وَبُلبل الأُنس في رَوض الهَنا غرّدْ

Now the bough of justice and nobility has put forth leaves,

and the nightingale of delight has sung in the garden of bliss.

وَقام حالاً بِأَمر الضَبط في رَجَب

وَقام حالاً بِأَمر الضَبط في رَجَب

فَهمي بحزم لَهُ فصل القَضا يَشهَد

فَهمي بحزم لَهُ فصل القَضا يَشهَد

And in Rajab, the charge of keeping order was promptly taken up

by Fahmi, with a firmness attested by decisive judgment.

فَجاءَ بِاليُسر بَعد العُسر وَاِنشرحت

فَجاءَ بِاليُسر بَعد العُسر وَاِنشرحت

مِنها الصُدور بِهَذا الطالع الأَسعَد

مِنها الصُدور بِهَذا الطالع الأَسعَد

So he brought ease after hardship, and gladdened

were hearts thereby, with this most auspicious rising star.

وَزال ما كانَ عَبد أَحدثه

وَزال ما كانَ عَبد أَحدثه

تَدبيره مِن قبل أَن

تَدبيره مِن قبل أَن

And gone was what a servant had brought about

through his management, before...

فَاحكم فَإنك بِالإِنصاف مُتصف

فَاحكم فَإنك بِالإِنصاف مُتصف

وَأَنتَ خَير أَمير في العُلا مفرد

وَأَنتَ خَير أَمير في العُلا مفرد

So govern, for you are marked by fairness,

and you are the best of emirs, peerless in eminence.

وَانعم فعَلياك قَد قالَت مؤرّخة

وَانعم فعَلياك قَد قالَت مؤرّخة

نعم الأجل حسين الضابط الأَمجَد

نعم الأجل حسين الضابط الأَمجَد

And prosper, for your glory has spoken in a chronogram:

How excellent is the most august Husayn, the most glorious officer!
