العيد أَشرَق بَهجةً بِسَعيدِهِ

العيد أَشرَق بَهجةً بِسَعيدِهِ

والأمنُ طابَ بِمَصره لِعَبيدِهِ

والأمنُ طابَ بِمَصره لِعَبيدِهِ

The feast shone with joy through its Sa‘id.

And security grew sweet in his Egypt for his subjects.

وَصفت لَهُم أَيامه في دَولة

وَصفت لَهُم أَيامه في دَولة

سادَت بِفَضل طَريفه وَتَليده

سادَت بِفَضل طَريفه وَتَليده

And his days grew serene for them under a state

That rose supreme by virtue of what he gained and inherited.

وَتَحصنت في مُلكه أَوطانُهُ

وَتَحصنت في مُلكه أَوطانُهُ

بِسَداده وَجُنوده وَمَشيده

بِسَداده وَجُنوده وَمَشيده

And his lands were fortified under his rule

By his sound judgment, his troops, and his lofty edifice.

فَلِمَن أَطاعَ مِن الأَنام وَمَن عَصى

فَلِمَن أَطاعَ مِن الأَنام وَمَن عَصى

إِنجاز مَوعده وَصِدق وَعيده

إِنجاز مَوعده وَصِدق وَعيده

For those among mankind who obeyed, and those who rebelled,

His promise is fulfilled, and his threat borne out.

وَالدَهر عيد كُله لِمشاهد

وَالدَهر عيد كُله لِمشاهد

في كُل وَقت مِنهُ وَجهَ فَريده

في كُل وَقت مِنهُ وَجهَ فَريده

And all time is a feast for one who beholds

At every moment of it, the face of its peerless one.

فَاللّه يَشرَح صَدرَه وَيسرُّهُ

فَاللّه يَشرَح صَدرَه وَيسرُّهُ

بِسَليله ندّ الذكا وَعَميده

بِسَليله ندّ الذكا وَعَميده

So may God bring comfort to his breast and gladden him

Through his scion, brilliance's peer and his mainstay,

ما قُلت بَينَ يَدي علاهُ مُؤرِّخاً

ما قُلت بَينَ يَدي علاهُ مُؤرِّخاً

العيد أَشرَق بَهجَةً بِسَعيده

So long as I say before His Highness, composing a chronogram:
