  1. دِيوان مالية الملك العَزيز سَما

    في مصر بِالصَدر إسماعيل وَاِنتَظَما

    The mighty king’s finance bureau rose high

    In Egypt through Chief Minister Ismail, and was set in order.

  2. وَاِزداد نُوراً عَلى نُور بِمَن نَشَروا

    لِلفَضل في عَصرهم بَينَ الوَرى علما

    And gained light upon light through those who unfurled

    A banner for excellence in their age among humankind.

  3. وَبِالصَفا وَالوَفا وَالجُود قَد عُرِفوا

    بَينَ الرَعية وَالأَشراف وَالعُلَما

    And for sincerity, loyalty, and generosity they were known

    Among the subjects, the nobles, and the scholars.
