A bereaved mother mourns you, O sun of splendor,
I mourn you, O sun of beauty, with tears
With tears that surpass the rainstorms.
Unmatched by other lamenters' sorrows evermore.

وَأَبوك يا بنت الحزين بقلبه
نارa fire تشبّblazes وَمالَهاand it has no إطفاءُextinguishing

And your grieving father, O daughter, has within his heart
And your father, O child of grief, with a heart
A fire that blazes and cannot be quenched.
Afire that naught can quench, now or before.
