A feast, adorned with Ismail, brings glad tidings

of what holds glory and splendor for Islam.

So the night of wishes shines with stars,

and the dawn of congratulations glows with gifts.

And the sun of glory grows ever brighter,

and the Khedive's full moon shines in Egypt's sky.

    مَحيّاه فيها بِالسَماحة أَنور

    And his days are festive seasons for all people;

his countenance shines brighter then with generosity.

And from the two palms of his bounty, in every corner

of the earth, ten flow—and they are seas.

So all things, moist and dry, grow green from them,

and those in hardship gain prosperity and triumph.

And at the start of his praise he recites a chronogram:

“A feast, adorned with Ismail, brings glad tidings.”
