بشراك في مَصر بِحوز مَراتبٍ

بشراك في مَصر بِحوز مَراتبٍ

بِكَ قَدرُها بَينَ الوَرى يَتَشَرَّفُ

بِكَ قَدرُها بَينَ الوَرى يَتَشَرَّفُ

Glad tidings to you in Egypt on attaining ranks

whose standing among humankind is ennobled by you.

وَلَكَ الهَنا بِسَعادة أَبَدية

وَلَكَ الهَنا بِسَعادة أَبَدية

وَمَناصب بَرفيعها تَتوظف

وَمَناصب بَرفيعها تَتوظف

And may yours be the joy of everlasting happiness,

and offices, in the loftiest of which you serve,

وَبِطُول عمر في سُرور دائم

وَبِطُول عمر في سُرور دائم

وَضِياء حلم معْه يُنسَى الأَحنَف

وَضِياء حلم معْه يُنسَى الأَحنَف

and a long life in lasting joy,

and the radiance of forbearance, beside which al-Ahnaf is forgotten,

وَسَداد رَأيٍ في الرِياسة شَمسُه

وَسَداد رَأيٍ في الرِياسة شَمسُه

طَولَ المَدى في أُفقها لا تُكسَف

طَولَ المَدى في أُفقها لا تُكسَف

and sound judgment in leadership, whose sun

throughout all time is never eclipsed on its horizon.

وَمَزيد إِقبال يَقول مهنئاً

وَمَزيد إِقبال يَقول مهنئاً

حسنٌ يَدوم لَهُ الزَمان المنصف

حسنٌ يَدوم لَهُ الزَمان المنصف

And ever greater good fortune says in congratulation:

“Hasan—may fair-dealing Time endure for him!”
