وَمَولاي لا تَخفى عَلَيهِ المَطالبُ
How long must I keep faith with patience, when longing is imperative?
How long must I keep company with patience, when the promise is binding?
My lord is one from whom no request is hidden.
And no requests are hidden from my lord.
وإنيand indeed I لَأَمرٍfor a matter مِنكَfrom you قَدindeed جئتI have come سائِلاًasking

فَكَم بِكَ تَدنو في السُؤال المَراكب
Indeed, for a favor from him I have come asking;
And I have indeed come to ask something of you,
how many conveyances draw near to you, bearing petitions!
For how many mounts draw near through you when one asks!
وَعَدتَyou promised بطقمٍwith an outfit كاملٍcomplete وَركوبةٍand a mount

You promised a complete outfit and a mount,
You promised a complete outfit and a mount,
and you are answerable for what you promised me.
And you are bound to deliver what you promised me.

وَلَكنَّني في جُود كَفيك راغب
Had this come from anyone but you, I would have let it go,
Had this come from someone other than you, I would have let it go;
but I desire the bounty of your two hands.
But I desire the bounty of your two hands.

To abandon hope in one true to his word is impossible,
And to abandon hope in one so faithful is impossible,
and you are a prince who prevails over every aspiration.
And you are a prince who surpasses all hopes.
وَقدand indeed شاعَhas spread بَينَamong الناسthe people وَعدٌa promise وَعدتَهyou made it

My promise has already spread among the people—and I have pledged it;
And a promise you made has spread among the people;
so fulfilling it, O peerless man of the age, is incumbent.
So fulfilling it, O peerless one of the age, is a duty.

Yet I am grateful whether you give or withhold,
Though I am grateful whether you give or withhold,
and in every circumstance I watch for fulfillment.
And in every circumstance I watch for the promise to be kept.

سِوى حوز تَشريف لَهُ أَنا طالب
My purpose is neither an outfit nor a mount,
And my purpose in an outfit or a mount
but to gain an honor—that alone I seek.
Is only to gain the honor that I seek.

So hasten this kindness, O Kaaba of generosity,
So hasten this kindness, O Kaaba of generosity,
O you through whom gifts have increased and become universal!
And O you through whom gifts have multiplied and spread everywhere.

For you are a prince descended from a prince, refined,
For you are a prince descended from a refined prince,
forbearing, generous, a guardian of blessings who takes due account.
Forbearing, generous, a provider of blessings, a reckoner.

And as long as the Ancient House and Zamzam are circled
by bondsmen and free, mature men and graybeards.
By bondsmen and free men, the middle-aged and the gray-haired.

May you never cease enjoining what is right among the people,
So may you ever enjoin what is right among the people,
and forbidding what is wrong—you are the one I address.
And forbid wrongdoing—you are the one addressed.

And may the host of good fortune and glory ever serve

Your radiant countenance, as long as the worthy succeed.

And may you ever guide with praiseworthy virtues and praise,
and through gratitude, as long as stars gleam upon the horizon.
And with gratitude, as long as stars gleam on a horizon.
