بِميلادat the birth of خَيرthe best of الناسhumankind نَجلson of محمدٍMuhammad
بِميلاد خَير الناس نَجل محمدٍ
أَضاءَتshone لَهُfor him الدُنياthe world وَنالَand attained المَعالياlofty honors
أَضاءَت لَهُ الدُنيا وَنالَ المَعاليا
At the birth of the best of men, Muhammad's son,
With the birth of the best of mankind, son of Muhammad
the world shone for him, and he attained lofty honors.
The world shone for him, and he attained the heights
وَحازand gained بِهِthrough him مِنfrom خامسthe fifth فيin محرمٍMuharram
وَحاز بِهِ مِن خامس في محرمٍ
بِمَصرin Egypt مَقاماًa station فيin السَعادةhappiness عالياlofty
بِمَصر مَقاماً في السَعادة عاليا
And through him, from the fifth of Muharram, he gained
And with it, as the fifth of Muharram in Egypt
in Egypt a lofty station in happiness.
He achieved a lofty position of felicity
وَقالَand said لَهُto him مَجديMajdi يَهنِّيoffering congratulations مؤرخاًcomposing a chronogram
وَقالَ لَهُ مَجدي يَهنِّي مؤرخاً
أَتىcame صالحSalih للشَمسto the sun وَالبَدرand the full moon حالياas an adornment
أَتى صالح للشَمس وَالبَدر حاليا
And Majdi said to him, offering congratulations in a chronogram:
And Majdi congratulated him, recording as historian
“Salih came, an adornment to the sun and the full moon.”
The auspicious one has come for the sun and moon
