عَلى الزَمان اقترح ما شئتَ حَيثُ غَدا

عَلى الزَمان اقترح ما شئتَ حَيثُ غَدا

عَبداً مُطيعاً وَأَنتَ الآمر الناهي

عَبداً مُطيعاً وَأَنتَ الآمر الناهي

Ask of Time whatever you wish, for it has become

Make of fate whatever you wish, now that tomorrow

An obedient slave, while you command and forbid.

Becomes your obedient slave, while you are the commanding prohibitor.

وَانشر لِواء مَسراتٍ تَدوم عَلى

وَانشر لِواء مَسراتٍ تَدوم عَلى

طُول المَدى لَكَ في سَعد وَفي جاه

طُول المَدى لَكَ في سَعد وَفي جاه

And unfurl a banner of joys that endure throughout

And raise the banner of lasting joys throughout

All time for you, in good fortune and prestige,

The long course of time for you in glory and prestige,

وَفي مَعال وَإِقبال يُلازمه

وَفي مَعال وَإِقبال يُلازمه

نَصر عَزيز وَتَأييد مِن اللَه

نَصر عَزيز وَتَأييد مِن اللَه

And in lofty honors and prosperity accompanied by

And in high endeavor and prosperity accompanied

Mighty victory and support from God,

By mighty triumph and support from God,

وَفي مَواسم للأَفراح أَبهجها

وَفي مَواسم للأَفراح أَبهجها

هَذا الخِتان الَّذي يزري بِأَشباه

هَذا الخِتان الَّذي يزري بِأَشباه

And in seasons of rejoicing, the most delightful being

And in seasons of most joyful celebrations made more festive

This circumcision, which puts its counterparts to shame.

By this circumcision which flows with the like.

هَذا الخِتان الَّذي فيهِ ثَناء عَلِي

هَذا الخِتان الَّذي فيهِ ثَناء عَلِي

مَع يُوسفٍ لَم يَزَل يُتلى بِأَفواه

مَع يُوسفٍ لَم يَزَل يُتلى بِأَفواه

This circumcision, at which praise of Ali

This circumcision wherein praise of Ali

Together with Yusuf is ceaselessly recited by mouths.

Along with Joseph continues to be recited from mouths,

وَهوَ الَّذي قالَت العَليا تؤرخه

وَهوَ الَّذي قالَت العَليا تؤرخه

ختان نَجلي عَليٍّ أَوجه زاهي

ختان نَجلي عَليٍّ أَوجه زاهي

And it is this that Glory dated, saying:

And which the Sublime has dated as

“The circumcision of Ali's two sons—its zenith is radiant.”

The circumcision of my son Ali, of shining visage.
