عَلى كُل القرى سادَت رَشيدُ

عَلى كُل القرى سادَت رَشيدُ

وَفازَت حَيث أَحمدُها رَشيدُ

وَفازَت حَيث أَحمدُها رَشيدُ

Rashid has surpassed all the towns,

And triumphed, for her Ahmad is Rashid.

وَإِن قَوامه العسّال عَنها

وَإِن قَوامه العسّال عَنها

بِطَعنٍ في حَشا الأَعدا يَذود

بِطَعنٍ في حَشا الأَعدا يَذود

And indeed his swaying, spear-like form, on her behalf,

Repels foes with thrusts into their entrails.

وَينصرها بِفَضل اللَه رَأيٌ

وَينصرها بِفَضل اللَه رَأيٌ

لَهُ في كُل حادِثَة سَديد

لَهُ في كُل حادِثَة سَديد

And, by God's grace, she is aided by counsel

Of his, sound in every circumstance.

وَتَرضى أَهلُها عَنهُ وَيَحظى

وَتَرضى أَهلُها عَنهُ وَيَحظى

سَريعاً بِالَّذي مِنها يُريد

سَريعاً بِالَّذي مِنها يُريد

And her people are pleased with him, and he gains

Swiftly what he desires from her.

وَيَبني لِلمَعالي بَيتَ مَجدٍ

وَيَبني لِلمَعالي بَيتَ مَجدٍ

بِها مِن حَوله سُور مشيد

بِها مِن حَوله سُور مشيد

And he builds for noble aims a house of glory,

With a lofty wall around it there.

وَيَمحو في القَضا آثارَ ظُلمٍ

وَيَمحو في القَضا آثارَ ظُلمٍ

بِعَدل ظلُّه فيها مَديد

بِعَدل ظلُّه فيها مَديد

And in judgment he erases the traces of injustice,

With justice whose shade stretches far within her.

وَتِلكَ بشارة حملت إِلَيهِ

وَتِلكَ بشارة حملت إِلَيهِ

مِن الإِقبال وَاقترب البَعيد

مِن الإِقبال وَاقترب البَعيد

And that is good news borne to him

From good fortune—and what was distant has drawn near.
