With praise of Sa‘id of his age, the people's treasure,

the mouth of hopes has grown sweet amid congratulations.

And praise of his exalted rule has ever been

in his Egypt the purest and sweetest wellspring.

And with thanks to him, the Feast of Sacrifices, whenever

it arrived, its lights shone, and it grew resplendent.

And processions appeared in it before the onlookers,

surpassing in their finery the style of old.

And his subjects prayed that he might long endure,

and indeed their prayer was answered and accepted.

May he remain, with Tusun of high distinction, his lion-cub,

an unassailable stronghold and refuge for the kingdom.

Or whenever a feast comes, heralding that

good governance and allegiance shall remain his,

or Majdi says amid rejoicing, recording the date:

"The Feast of Sacrifices—through it, lofty glory is Sa‘id's."
