A servant you support has won what he desires,
With what he desires a servant prevailed, you are his helper,
And his glad tidings came hastening toward him.
And good tidings hastened towards him,

And he gained the glory and honor he sought,
And he attained what he sought of glory and nobility,
And lofty ranks through which his foe is brought low.
And of high positions through which his rivals are debased,

And the nights made peace with him, and time grew serene
And his nights and time are safe,
For him, and its sudden assaults were repelled from his fortress.
For him, and its threats were driven from his fortress,

And he hopes for nothing in his heart but
And there is nothing in his soul that he hopes for,
A small thing through which his pulpits rise.
Except a small thing through which his pulpits are exalted,
وَأَنتَand you ياO أَيُّهاyou الصَدرthe minister الكَبيرgreat بِهِabout it
أَدرىknow best وَأَنتَand you لِمَنfor whomever واليتyou befriended جابرهhis restorer
And you, O great minister, concerning it,
And you, O great-hearted one,
Know best; and you restore whomever you have befriended.
Are more knowing, and you know who your protector appointed,
فَامنُنso grant favor بِتذكرةwith a note مِنهاfrom it مَواردُهhis comings

So favor him with a note, through which his comings
So confer upon him a reminder from it, from which his pursuits
Grow clear, and through which his goings become sweet for him.
Become pure, and from it his sources become sweet for him,
وَلاand do not تَدَعهُleave him عَلىon جَمرembers بمضيعةin a wasteland

And do not leave him upon embers in a wasteland,
And do not leave him in loss through neglect,
For you support one whose armies have retreated.
For you are the supporter of the one whose armies you commanded,
وَلاand do not تُسَوِّفdelay فَخَيرfor the best البرkindness عاجلُهits prompt form

And do not delay, for the best kindness is swiftly given,
And do not procrastinate, for the best charity is that done promptly,
And all people are grateful to the doer of good.
And the doer of good, all people thank him.
